Found the secret garden..

Some photos of the abandoned hotel I explored in Baguio, up at Dominican Hill. We explored it at dusk even if you're not allowed to enter the gate past five.. We were already there, so we sort of trespassed.. Had to bat my eyelashes a few times as well when we were being told to leave. It was so beautiful in the sunset with the golden light creeping in through the corridors. The photos don't even do justice to how pretty everything was... You can still see traces of how grand it was supposed to be. There was even the scale model of how it was before. Makes me wonder why they abandoned it.

When I saw the wildflowers growing everywhere, I almost convinced myself that I had found the secret garden. Strangely enough, after googling it when I got home, most of the blog entries I read mentioned that the hotel gave them the creeps... Apparently it has a reputation for being haunted. :|

As for me, I thought the place was magical.

Holy Week

At a parking lot in Subic Freeport...

An abandoned warehouse somewhere in Zambales...

11pm at Dunkin Donuts, while waiting for the driver..

Chris...

Lazy afternoons...

Spending the sunset at a runway that planes don't use anymore...

Barefoot on a road in Cubi in the morning...

Sunlight creeping in thru the blinds after waking up at a brand new place...

Coffee, newspapers and rugby

Beautiful Mona..

Some quiet moments over my holy week. My holy week was a blur of work, but there was some serenity in between all the chaos. For those moments that I can breathe, I am always thankful. I'm looking forward to being on the road again. Sadly my work is still somewhat location-dependent, but I'm dreaming of the day that I can just be on the move full time! Beginnings are always difficult, but I love them anyway. I'll post my latest work soon.. Hopefully. But for now, here are the in-betweens.

I hope it's lovely and bright wherever you are :)

Catanduanes - Caramoan Photo Diary

of jumping off planks...
the most beautiful cruise to Caramoan...
lovely homes by the ocean...
wading thru all kinds of waters...
a small boat at the pier..
endless laughs with such positive people...
the smell of the ocean air...
having an island all to ourselves..
the ocean eating the sky...
takeoffs and landings, and the shortest plane rides...
learning to skimboard with homemade boards from the locals...
getting on a boat that actually transports vegetables, and not travelers...
finding starfish...
carabaos on the beach...
a little bit of sunshine..
Bicolandia's abaca..
our skimboarding instructor..
a man making fishing tools..
the calmest waters and the greyest of skies...
setting up the boats...
lovely kayak rides...
trespassing so we could see a big old cave (in the end, I remembered climbing over the gate more than actually seeing the cave)
Driving off road..
...and lots of wide open spaces.
