It's sunflower season!
So yesterday, we decided to brave the heat and enjoy the sun.
Sunflowers are important to me cause they were the reason I went to the university I attended!
My bestfriend calls me Hannah Helianthus, which is the scientific name for sunflower (I think!)
For the last four years, I've also been getting sunflowers on my birthday.
Obviously, I love sunflowers!
Here are a few reasons why :)
1. They like hugs!
2. They like hide and seek!
3. They smell nice!
4. They are great kissers!
5. They're really tall, and have dreamboat eyes.
6. They don't bite back.

7. They make you smile!
8. And finally, cause they're yellow.

I guess they have a lot in common with my boyfriend!
Well, except for the 'really tall' part.

And oh, he's not yellow.

Basically spent yesterday walking on rooftops, lying down on the asphalt, putting everything and nothing at the same time on, planning, taking tons of photos, and knowing that being free to do all that is one of the best gifts in the world. All of that with the sexy, sexy Chari, who thinks uncannily like me. It's so refreshing to be around a positive person who likes the same things as you, and is absolutely game for everything. And it doesn't hurt that she cooks so well! I am gaining 10 pounds just by being around this girl!

I think I'm in a good place in my life right now.

P.S. Aren't I so awesome at braiding hair? Thank yoooouuuu, youtube!

It still feels like a dream. I never believed that I would pass UP, and my high school self would have never believed that I could get in, and even more so graduate cum laude. Even my friends are surprised (tears). Sitting beside some of the nation's most brilliant minds made me feel so much goosebumps!

It was all a blur, and I didn't absorb anything any of the speakers said  so I'm watching JK Rowling's Harvard commencement address for the nth time, cause it never fails to inspire me. I feel beyond blessed, for I have what she wished for the graduates. I have such amazing friends, and they continue coloring my life, as they have since we first met.

It all began four years ago, when  I made a very important decision. I was choosing between two schools, and I chose this one because I saw sunflowers. It was beautiful and magical and I thought I'd like to go to a place where they grow sunflowers. It was always the sunflowers. They lured me in, and four years later, I can't believe they're saying goodbye!

Today I sit here, bright eyed and hopeful. I'm scared but I continue believing in living a life I can look back on and be proud of. Being out of school is terrifying. Not knowing what comes next is terrifying. But it is an adventure, and four years in UP has prepared me for this. BRING IT ON.
